Ukraine Military Intelligence (Hur) knocked down two SU-30 Russian combat aircraft using Air-Aire missiles fired from Magura-7 maritime drones near Novalossiysk, said the chief of Hur, Kyrylo Budanov. As reported by the Ukrainian newspaper .
Russia has not confirmed the incident but declared the state of emergency in the town, a scenario according to Moscow of a powerful night attack of Ukrainian drones.
This operation marks the first time in history that combat planes are demolished by unmanned vessels. Initially, the reports confirmed the destruction of a single plane, but Budanov later clarified that two aircraft were impacted. “It’s a historical moment,” he said to the publication.
According to Hur, Group 13, a special operations unit of the agency, executed the attack. A video of the first Su-30 was published demolished and shared widely on social networks, although no visual evidence of the second attack has emerged. Budanov reported that the crew of the first plane survived and was rescued by a civil ship, while it is believed that the second crew died.

Russian military authorities have limited themselves to confirming the statement of the state of emergency in Novalossiysk, in the Krasnodar region, after a Ukrainian attack against “residential buildings” that has left five injured, including two children.
