Housing Credit Registers 16th Month of Descent in interest rates

The implicit interest rate on housing credit retreated in May for the 16th consecutive month to 3.570%, minus 9.3 points base than in April and the lowest value since May 2023, IA has announced Wednesday.

“The implicit interest rate on housing credit descended to 3.570%, lower value at 9.3 points based on the previous month, accumulating a reduction of 108.7 base points from the maximum hit in January 2024 (4.657%),” says the National Statistics Institute ().

In contracts entered into in the last three months, the interest rate has dropped from 3.060% in April to 3.057% in May, registering a monthly retreat 0.3 base points and a accumulated decrease of 132.3 base points from October 2023.
