The former director of PRF (Federal Highway Police) Silvinei Vasques denied, this Thursday (24), to have ordered the realization of illegal blitzes no North East with the objective of hindering the displacement of voters from the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) During the second round of 2022 Election.
Vasques is one of the accused in core 2 of the criminal action that investigates an attempt to coup d’etat and gave testimony to STF (Federal Supreme Court).
According to him, there was no resistance to the determinations coming from the Ministry of Justicethen under Anderson Torresalso defendant in the case. Vasques stated that the actions of the voting day followed the standard of other electoral years.
“Everything we received from guidance, I understood that it was necessary to accept, it was a hierarchical issue with the Ministry of Justice. I worked in several elections. In my understanding, that was the strict compliance with legal duty. I did not see any illegality in the speech of the minister. This is what I took to the PRF, supervision, attentive with an electoral crime, with accident, to guarantee the right of the citizen to arrive.”
During the hearing, Vasques claimed that the purpose of the operations was to curb electoral offenses, such as irregular voter transport and the blockade of roads throughout the national territory, and not specifically in the Northeast, where Lula got advantage over Jair Bolsonaro.
The former director also argued that it would be unfeasible to try to defraud the election through the PRF, due to the corporation’s reach of reaching the volume of voters.
“We approached 28,000 people in total, including children and people who had already voted. There was no way to interfere with an election. It is a crime that, even if we wanted, it is impossible,” he said.
Vasques also denied any messages or participation in a coup content meeting and said he had his life destroyed by the accusation.
“I feel a victim. I didn’t talk to anyone. I didn’t attend any meeting. I didn’t change a message with anyone. In the end we got involved with all this situation,” he said.
Investigations of PF (Federal Police) They point out that the PRF structure was used to make it difficult to displace and voting voters, especially northeastern, on the day of the second round of elections.

According to Oliveira, Torres made more demands within Operation Elections 2022 and requested expansion of the budget and staff to the second round. According to him, there were requests for funds in the amounts of $ 1 million and $ 3 million.
The former minister would also have tried to implement an integrated operation between the Federal Police and the PRF to reinforce the inspection in the election period.
