He won his second title followed by simple in the world circuit of and the 10th in the history of the WTT. After taking gold in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the Brazilian closed the perfect weekend in Buenos Aires by overcoming Japanese Mizuki Oikawa, only 106th in the world, 4-1, partial 11/5, 12/10, 10/12, 11/7 and 11/5.

Tables have not faced each other since 2016, when Calderano won both clashes. By keeping the parish against the opponent, the world’s third best table in the world leaves Argentina with two golds, as it had also won in the mixed pairs, and with the position in the quieter ranking for the 400 points added

Calderano began the final showing a lot of concentration in defense and strength in attacks, then opening 4-1. Oikawa sought to be aggressive to try to surprise, but the returns made the life of the Japanese difficult. The Brazilian closed the partial 11 to 5 with ball out.

Oikawa came back better at the beginning of the second set and, in beautiful ball exchange, made 5-1. Nothing worked for Calderano, who had seven points of disadvantage in the partial, with 3 to 10. But the Brazilian is strong mentally and managed to save the seven point sets of the Japanese. And what seemed impossible was materialized, with epic turn to 12 to 10 with eight points in a row.

Even with high morals after saving a lost partial, Calderano opened a set exaggerating the errors and being a 6-0 disadvantage. Oikawa wanted to erase the bad impression of the second set, but oscillated a lot and saw the rival again react and tie 7-7. The Brazilian wasted a set point and ended up seeing the rival decrease with 12 to 10.

The fourth set started with more balance, but leaving Zero made the Japanese more motivated and confident in the draw. With 6 to 6, Calderano had two withdrawals to refer the partial and did not waste. He did 3-1 with 11 to 7, leaving a set of the achievement after three sets in a row walking behind the scorer, the Brazilian started better and soon 2-0. Oikawa had no time to ask and invested in the blows to survive in the final. However, it exaggerated in the mistakes and soon stayed behind with 7-2. The Brazilian celebrated the title with 11 to 5 after beautiful exchange of balls and error of the Japanese.

It was the fourth individual final followed by Calderano and the third title. In April, the Brazilian was champion of the World Cup. The following month, he lost in the World Cup decision. And in June, he won the gold at the Star Star Contender Ljubljana. Calderano had already taken his first gold alongside his girlfriend Bruna Takahashi at Mixas Duplas on Saturday by overcoming Indians Harmeet Desai and Yashaswini Ghorpade, partial 17/15, 11/7 and 13/11. With no time to waste, he will be in action next week at the Star Contender of Foz do Iguaçu, a competition that promises to have more stars in the sport.

Japanese wins female final

The title of Simple Female was with Japanese Miwa Harimoto, who surpassed Taipei’s Cheng I-Ching, 4-2, partial 11/4, 11/8, 6/11, 5/11, 11/8 and 11/4. It was the sixth achievement at WTT, from the main favorite of the event in Argentina.
