Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Germany on Friday that partially stopping the export of weapons for the Jewish state “rewards” the Palestinian militant movement Hamas, Informs TASR according to DPA report. The statement of Netanyahu’s office states that the Israeli Prime Minister expressed his disappointment with this decision Berlin in an interview with the federal office of Friedrich Merz.
Merz announced on Friday that Germany will temporarily prohibit its companies to deliver military equipment to Israel, which could be used in the war in the Gaza Strip. He responded to the planned taking control of Israel over Gaza.
The office said it is “increasingly difficult to understand” as this plan could help to achieve Israel’s legitimate goals. “Under these circumstances, the German government will allow any export of military equipment that could be used in the Gaza Strip until further notice,” declared Merz.
The Israeli security cabinet approved a plan to take control of Gaza on Friday morning. Before the meeting of Netanyahu told American TV Fox News that Israel wants to take control of the whole Gaza band, but is not interested in the permanent occupation of the area. The aim is reportedly to free it from Hamas and finally to hand over the Gaza band to the hands of an alternative civilian government.
