Before the war, she led a large, well-equipped private clinic in the center of Gaza City. “Today I am making caesarean section operations in the light of a cell phone flashlight,” says Taghreed al-Imawi. The Palestinian specialist in gynecology and obstetrics treats 60 to 70 patients per day in the Kamal Adwan hospital. From week to week she has to see how pregnant women get leaner – and stop growing unborn babies.
