In the first phase, the 32 World Cup teams will be divided into eight groups of four teams. The direct confrontation will be the first tiebreaker in the group stage – which represents a novelty in tournaments organized by FIFA –, followed by goal difference and number of goals scored.

The top two in each bracket advance to the knockout stage. In the event of a draw after the round of 16, the match will be decided in extra time, with a penalty shootout afterwards. The tournament will be held every four years.

The draw for the 2025 Club World Cup keys is scheduled for December 5th, Thursday, at 3 pm (Brasília time). The first edition of FIFA’s new competition will be played in 11 cities across the United States.
