Just mix it with water and wipe it in the bathroom. They will be clean and shiny again
Cleaning surfaces that come into regular contact with water and soap is not the easiest task. Evaporating, warm bath water settles on bathroom tiles, creating a matte coating. Wiping the tiles with a wet cloth and some dishwashing or glass liquid does not help much. Stains, deposits and scale still remain on the surface of the tiles. Cleaning bathroom tiles with detergents for shower cabins gives slightly better results. They have properties that dissolve difficult dirt. You can find many home methods for cleaning bathroom tiles on the Internet. It turns out that there is one product that can deal with this type of dirt best of all.
Classic white vinegar works best. Just mix it with water in equal proportions and wipe the bathroom tiles thoroughly. Vinegar not only dissolves dirt such as scale and soap stains, but also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. This makes it great as a preventive measure. If the smell of vinegar is too irritating for you, you can add a few drops of scented dish soap to the mixture. Bathroom tiles cleaned this way will remain perfectly clean for a long time. However, remember not to use this method on hand-painted tiles. The acidic formula of vinegar can dissolve the paint and damage the tiles.
Take it out of the garage and wipe the bathroom tiles with it once every six months. The surface will regain its former glory
Deposits, streaks and frequent washing may cause them to become dull over time. To regain their former shine, it is worth polishing them from time to time. Wax on car bodies is perfect for this purpose. Before such treatment, wash and dry the tiles thoroughly. Then apply a small amount of wax to a soft cloth and rub it into the bathroom tiles with circular movements. You can also use this method to shine kitchen tiles, but in this case, check whether their surface is properly degreased. Perform this treatment once every six months and your nail plates will remain shiny and shiny for many years.
Not every tile is the same. How to care for various surfaces?
The method of cleaning tiles should be adapted to the material they are made of, so as not to expose them to damage. The most popular ceramic tiles and glazed stoneware are relatively resistant and can be washed both with home methods and with dedicated detergents. The situation is different in the case of matte stoneware with a rough structure – hot water works best here as it evaporates quickly and does not leave unsightly streaks. In turn, glazed tiles, although resistant to moisture, are susceptible to scratching, so avoid using rough sponges and agents containing abrasive particles.
Particular care should be taken with natural stone tiles, such as marble or granite. They are extremely sensitive to acids, so using vinegar or citric acid is absolutely not recommended – it may lead to micro-damages and a dull surface. For their care, choose only products with a neutral pH. In the case of natural clay tiles, such as terracotta, you can use mild detergents or the above-mentioned vinegar solution, but always in moderation.
What about grout? Restore them to their former color without scrubbing
Even the most beautiful and clean tiles will not look good if the joints between them remain dirty and gray. Over time, not only dirt but also bacteria accumulate in the cracks. Instead of tiring scrubbing, it is worth using concentrated preparations designed specifically for cleaning joints. These types of agents work quickly, often in just a few dozen seconds, effectively dissolving even years of dirt. Importantly, they are safe for the joints themselves – they do not wash them out or discolor them, but instead restore their original, fresh color.
When mold appears in the bathroom. How to remove it effectively?
Mold on tiles and joints is not only an aesthetic problem, but above all a health hazard. Due to high humidity, the bathroom is a place particularly susceptible to its development, so quick action is key. As soon as you notice the first signs of black or green coating, use a specialist anti-mold agent. Such preparations have a strong cleaning effect, which not only eliminates visible traces of fungi, but also neutralizes unpleasant odors.
Application is usually simple: just apply the preparation evenly to the contaminated surface and leave it for at least 20 minutes. After this time, rinse the area thoroughly with water or wash it with a damp cloth. In case of very stubborn dirt, the operation can be repeated. When using this type of agents, remember to ensure good ventilation in the room and always use protective gloves.
