Cleiton Araújo Carvalho, 33 years old, was the victim of robbery and physically attacked when he said he had no money in the early hours of this Sunday (1st), in front of the Cadeia Velha Police Station, on Avenida Benjamin Constant, in the Cadeia Velha neighborhood, in Rio Branco .

According to information from the victim himself, he was walking towards the center of the neighborhood, when two unidentified men, who came from the vicinity of the former 1st Regional Civil Police Station (currently the Specialized Crime Station), approached him. One of them, armed with a knife, announced the robbery and stole Cleiton’s cell phone. When they asked for the victim’s wallet, he informed them that he had no money, but was forced to hand over all his documents.

When the robbers realized that Cleiton really didn’t have any money, they started attacking him. The victim fell after being hit by a trip and was brutally beaten, receiving kicks in the face, head and back. When trying to escape, Cleiton was held by the back pocket of his jeans, but, after a lot of struggle, he managed to escape and run to avoid further attacks.

Desperate, he ran to the emergency room in Rio Branco, where he asked for help and medical attention. After being treated and medicated, Cleiton was released and returned home, in the Cadeia Velha neighborhood, on foot.
The Military Police were not called, and the case will not be investigated by the Civil Police.
