A simple forgotten receipt in a multi -game box may seem just an unimportant detail, but has served as bait in a burla scheme that has already deceived several people in Portugal. The trick explores the curiosity of those who look at the paper left in the terminal and the desire to help someone who presents himself as the ‘owner’ of the bead.
How the trick works
According to the authorities cited by the Leak technology site, the blow is ingenious because it starts with a banal gesture. The burlão prints a balance of balance or movements and purposely leaves it on the machine. When someone notices the role, an accomplice, often hurried to pretend to be the account holder.
The staging almost always follows the same script: with distressed air, the fake owner says the account is blocked and asks for help to “unlock” access. The next step is to convince the victim to insert his own card and to make a symbolic transfer of 1 or 2 euros.
The apparently innocent request
According to the police alerts cited by the same source, the small transfer only serves to test the victim’s availability to collaborate. When giving in, it paves the way for new requests: supposed rates, unlocking or corrections, which quickly increase the damage.
In addition, by manipulating the situation, the burlon can observe the PIN code introduced and prepare for cloning or direct theft.
Because so many people fall into the blow
The police explains that this scheme results from the combination of several factors: the natural curiosity of looking at a forgotten bead, the confidence transmitted by the context of the multibanco and the psychological pressure of not wanting to refuse help. The initial request for only a few euros makes the situation even more convincing.
In certain cases, the receipt is just a distraction. While the victim speaks to the false owner, another accomplice can steal wallets or discreetly observe the secret code.
Cases in Portugal
According to reports disclosed by Pel Leak, some victims began by transferring small values and ended up losing hundreds of euros. Authorities reinforce that multibancos are frequent targets of creative burlas, adapted to the routine of users.
How to protect
The recommendation is simple: Always ignore talons left on the machine and never accept requests from strangers. Protect the pin with your hand, tear your own receipts before lying out and prefer multibans in moved places.
If you have been a victim, you should immediately contact the bank, block the card and check the account movements. It is also essential to file a complaint to the authorities.
A role that is not innocent
The so -called receipt trick forgotten by the show how a seemingly harmless detail can be turned into an effective trap. More than curiosity, it may be at stake for a scam with serious consequences.
