The House of Representatives approved, with 311 votes favorable and 163 against, the urgent regime for the Amnesty Bill. The result exceeded the necessary number to approve a PEC (Proposed Amendment to the Constitution), which requires 308 votes.
The PL leader in the House, Sostenes Cavalcante, said the score was within the expectations expected four months ago, when the signatures were collected for the urgency. At the time, the projection was 309 favorable votes, a number that ended up being.

The next step will be (Republicans). After this step, discussions begin to build the final text, which should be debated among all leaders.
Sostenes stressed that the amnesty is not intended to benefit specific people, but to contemplate occasions and events.
“Amnesty is not for people, it is for occasions, for dates, for events,” said the deputy.
There is a divergence between political groups regarding the scope of amnesty. While the opposition defends a broad and general amnesty, the center proposes only a reduction in penalties. The final text will still be built through dialogue between the different political forces.
