The only name of the Government (PT), met on Friday (19) with President Lula and, according to reports, warned that he will resign from the Ministry of Tourism next week.

The meeting, which lasted about 1 hour and 30 minutes, occurred one day after União Brasil’s determination that its affiliates leave public positions in petista management.

After the meeting with the President of the Republic, Sabino met with the party summit and, also according to reports, it was agreed that the minister will announce later this Friday that he will leave the government next week.

According to people along with the meeting, Sabino informed Lula that he would still have agendas that he considers important to fulfill in the coming days as minister and, therefore, intends to stay in this period. On the return of Lula from New York, he will present the resignation letter.

After the hearing with the president, Sabino consulted the Union Brazil summit about the possibility of extending his permanence in the government, in order to follow the organization of COP30, the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change, which will take place in Belém.

With an electoral domicile in Pará, he claimed that his performance in a state -based event could boost a Senate candidacy. The leaders insisted to announce their departure later this week.

Even saying sadly, Sabino said he would make the party’s decision he helped found, only asking for the delivery of his resignation to take place on the return of Lula’s trip.

The day before, the national executive of the acronym unanimously approved the requirement that its affiliates, which was originally scheduled for the end of the month. União Brasil gave 24 hours for its affiliates to resign, or risk being expelled.

The union’s guidance was given after revealing accusations made by a pilot that party president Antonio Rueda owns planes operated by the CCP (first command of the capital). Rueda denies the accusation.

Behind the scenes, party members say they see the influence of Planalto Palace in the report, as one of its authors also has a program on TV Brasil.

Sabino is a federal deputy licensed from União and nominated for the government for the party bench in the House. Senate President David Alcolumbre (Brazil-AP Union) was responsible for appointing two other Lula ministers in the subtitle quota: Waldez Góes (regional development) and Frederico Siqueira Filho (communications).

The decision, however, does not affect Waldez and Frederico, because they are not affiliated with the acronym.

Faced with the announcement of his party, Sabino anticipated his return to Brasilia. The then minister was traveling in Pará, his state.

During the expectations of landing for his party, Sabino came to look for members of the Union Brazil summit, allies in Congress and colleagues of the Lula administration in an offensive to try to stay in office.

Members of the first level of Planalto evaluate that the Alliance of Management with União Brasil has been supported, for some time, in a relationship with alcohubre, and not with the direction of the acronym.

The party’s stampede has been threatened since August, having advanced this month since the joints of Union and the PP (with which) announced the decision to leave the ministries.

At the time, the two parties stated that all “holders of mandates” should leave the government by September 30, otherwise they are expelled. This means that, besides Sabino, the minister (sports), affiliated to the progressives, should be left.

Lula has always ruled with a minority from the left in Congress and, therefore, signed an alliance with five center and right parties, including União Brasil, which has three ministers in its quota, but two of them sponsored by alcohumbre. The five parties today control 11 ministries. With the resignation of Sabino and with the possible departure of fufuca, the number will fall to 9.

The departure of the minister will represent the 13th exchange in the ministry of Lula 3 since the petista’s inauguration in January 2023.

With the beginning of the threats, the president even charged that the union and PP affiliates were positioned during opposition acts organized by their acronyms, after the federation announcement between the two.

The alliance announcement event was attended by the governor of São Paulo, (), named as a possible opponent of Lula in the presidential election next year.
