Left acts against Congress in Paulista – 21/09/2025 – Power

Protesters summoned by social movements, presidents of leftist and parliamentarous parties gathered on Paulista Avenue, this Sunday (21), to protest against the amnesty project and the shielding PEC.

Protesters began to meet around 1 pm in front of the MASP, São Paulo postcard, with banners and posters with the words and “without amnesty”.

Also entered the list of requests from the protesters the end of the 6×1 work scale, the taxation of the richest and the exemption of income tax for those who earn up to R $ 5,000 per month – Government’s (PT) who follows in Congress.

The act was summoned by the fronts without fear and popular Brazil, linked to the PSOL and the PT and that bring together movements such as the (Landless Rural Workers Movement) and the (homeless workers movement), in at least 22 capitals.

In Paulista, at least eight blocks, between Padre João Manoel and Alameda Joaquim Eugênio de Lima streets, were taken by the protesters, who chanted shouts of “no amnesty and no dosimetry”, “the flag is ours” and “will be arrested” – reference to Bolsonaro.

The sound car was positioned in front of the Trianon Park, across the MASP, where parliamentarians and artists took turns in the speeches, which began around 2:30 pm.

Present were federal deputies Guilherme Boulos, Ivan Valente, Luiza Erundina, Luciene Cavalcanti (PSOL); Orlando Silva (PCdoB); Rui Falcão and Juliana Cardoso (PT); Former PT President José Genoíno, in addition to the PT and PSOL presidents, Edinho Silva and Paula Coradi.

The sound car with authorities, artists and advisors began to swing, full, and the organizers asked for a public relay that was on the trio. The organization, according to the SheetI didn’t expect so many people to attend, so he only hired a sound car.

Father Julius Lancelotti asked those present, regardless of their respective religions, to raise his hands in a blessing for peace.

Protesters carried posters calling “traitors” the 12 PT federal deputies who were in favor of the Armage PEC, also called Bondery PEC for allowing congress and criminal proceedings in the (Supreme Court) against deputies and senators. None of the 12 petist deputies attended the act.

Asked about the vote of PT deputies in favor of PEC, Federal Deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) said it was a mistake and stressed that, on the PL bench, everyone voted “Yes”.

“I consider it a mistake, so much so that I voted against. Now the PL by weight totally 100% voted in favor of the ‘bandit PEC’. So we have to focus on this discussion,” said the psolist.

Federal Deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP) agreed that it was a miscalculation of the left and that the PSB bench will vote against PEC in the Senate. She also stated that, about the idea of ​​turning the amnesty project into discussion about the dosimetry of the feathers, “there is no dialogue with coup.”

The petistas who voted in favor of the PEC disobeyed the party’s orientation, which has 68 federal deputies, to go against the text. The group argued with the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), not to vote for the amnesty, prioritized by Bolsonarists after the (PL) condemnation of the coup plot last week.

The group claims to have been betrayed by Motta, as the day after the PEC vote, the urgency to vote for the amnesty was based and approved in the house.

The Minister of Agrarian Development, Paulo Teixeira, made a quick appearance in the demonstration in São Paulo. He was Lula’s only minister to attend. The government had guided the ministers not to participate in the acts so as not to further intensify the relationship with the National Congress.

During the time he was in the sound car, he rained in Paulista. Protesters hosted themselves on Marquise and tents. Also in the act were the singers Otto and Nando Reis.
