Janja says Brazilians fear “state bullets”

Statement was given during a meeting of evangelicals promoted by the PT, in Brasília, on Monday (June 8); First Lady stated that “we need a State that takes care of us”

The first lady stated, on Monday (June 8, 2026), that Brazilian families should not be afraid that their children will be hit by a “state bullet” when moving around communities.

During his speech at , carried out by PT, Janja stated: “We need to not be afraid that our children will walk the streets of the community without taking a bullet… From the State”. The statement was made when the first lady spoke about God’s care for people.

Janta argued that people need to be able to move around the streets calmly: “We know that God is taking care of us. We need a State that also takes care of us. We need a society that also takes care of us. We need to walk calmly through the streets. We need to not be afraid of coming home and finding a partner who will beat us”.

The excerpt refers to the president’s speech (PT), at the end of May, when the PT member stated that he was “very sad” with the of the United States to classify the Brazilian criminal factions PCC (Primeiro Comando da Capital) and CV (Comando Vermelho) as “terrorists”.

Lula stated at the time: “I am very sad today with the news that the Secretary of the United States of America, a certain Marco Rubio, said that our criminals are terrorists and that the Americans can intervene”.

Janja did not directly mention police corporations or draw comparisons between security agents and criminals during the speech.
