The package of consolidation measures for next year was not supported by the coalition deputy Ján Ferenčák (Voice-SD). He explained to journalists that he disagrees to transfer consolidation to citizens, companies, entrepreneurs and local governments. Of the 79 deputies present, the package was supported by 78, Ferenčák did not vote. Róbert Puci, head of the Voice Group-SD Group, thinks that Ferenčák has already lost the confidence of the whole club. The situation will be addressed, the chairman of the party Matúš Šutaj Eštok will also talk to him.
Ferenčák said that the voting should be decided by their conscience and consciousness. He pointed to the consolidation of burden of citizens, companies and municipalities. “Since the basic parameters have not been filled – the transfer of the largest or largest part of the state spending – so I said I would not vote, and I express my attitude to this consolidation as such,” made it clear.
The deputy sees no reason for his position in voice-SD after this vote. He claims that It supports the government’s policy statement and has social democratic attitudes. “I do not see the reason why by expressing the opinion when consolidation is to be moved to those who are vulnerable should be endangered,” added. He thinks that if he disagrees with something, no one can force him.
“We are going to deal with it. We will talk to him, the party chairman will also talk to him, we’ll see how we agree,” He said to Ferenčák’s attitude of Puci. He announced that he would know about the situation by the end of the week. “After all this has lost confidence, in my opinion, the whole club,” He answered journalists to the question of whether Ferenčák had his trust.
According to Puci, the consolidation package does not suit anyone, but he justified his need by inheriting public finances in a bad condition. “We try to make the public administration spending consolidated,” noted. He expects the investigation on the government side in mid -October, when a budget proposal for the next year could come to the plenary. “We will see what the minister will come up with in the budget, because this is the second part of the consolidation and then we will see what will bring us all the next year,” added.
According to Puci, everyone, including the opposition, counted on shortening the consolidation package. Recalled that shortening of the discussion allows the Rules of Procedure of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. “Their performances were more or less repeated from the beginning, since the short reading has been repeated, so I think that when one of the opposition MPs wanted to say it, he had enough time to say it,” said the head of the Voice-SD club. Parliament approved the consolidation package on Wednesday evening after it ended prematurely the debate in the second reading and subsequently shortened the debate in the third reading.
