Entrepreneurs Association proposes end of five IRS levels and spills at IRC

The Association argues that Portugal needs to be “reindingtrializing intelligently” to be “an active agent of the European Union’s unique market realization at a time when” geopolitics changes are leading to narrowing and approaching the chains of value. “

A which brings together 142 business leaders, on Friday, an open letter to the government to defend the elimination of the first five IRS echelons and the end of the IRC spills on large companies.

The letter, in addition to being addressed to the executive of Luís Montenegro (PSD/CDS-PP) on the eve of the presentation of the State Budget Proposal to 2026 (OE2026), has as recipients the deputies of the Assembly of the Republic, to whom it is necessary to approve the legislation that changes the taxation in these two taxes.

Country needs to “reindustrialize with intelligence”

The Association argues that Portugal needs to “reindustrialize with intelligence” to be “An active agent of the implementation of the single market” of the European Union at a time when “Geopolitics changes are leading to narrow and approaching the value chains.”

For this reason, business leaders understand that this “ambition requires a new contract between state, companies and civil society that assumes a prominent position for the creation of wealth and that encourages and celebrates the success of our people and companies taking advantage of huge opportunities.”

For BRP, it is necessary to act on four fronts: in “Licensing and Bureaucracy”in the area of “Fiscal and Administrative Justice”no “Fiscal System” by “energy”.

It is in the sphere of fiscal justice that the association outlines both measures in IRS and IRC.

“We need to break the poverty trap that condemns almost a quarter of workers”

Business Roundtable suggests to the government and deputies an urgent reconfiguration of “IRS up to 1.5 times the national average salary to free the will of 60% of the Portuguese want to grow”, proposing “in the first phase eliminating the first five echelons” reads in the letter.

At this time, the first five levels cover the Collectable income up to 28,400 euros annually.

“We need to break the poverty trap that condemns almost a quarter of workers to be arrested in the national minimum wage, the state gets 62% of the salary increase of those who dare to escape from the national minimum wage, which is immoral,” the association justifies.

Regarding the IRC, entrepreneurs defend “end the progressive system” that condemns the country “to have 41% of large companies less than the EU average”, defending the elimination of the state spill.

Recently, on September 19, PSD, CDS-PP, PS, Livre and PCP spoiled an IL initiative designed to eliminate the first level of the spill.

Regarding licensing rules, the Association proposes to apply “to the other services and the success model used in tourism”.

In court, BRP argues that it is decided for administrative and fiscal litigation what has been applied in “Civil and Commercial Justice in the last decade and that takes less than a third of the time of the fiscal and administrative courts”.

Energy sector

As for the energy sector, it sets out Portugal “Lead in renewables and low -carbon technologies” to allow “the reindustrialization of Portugal and Europe”.

The letter is signed by 142 leaders, including Ana Figueiredo (MEO), Ângelo Paul (NAS), António Horta Osório (Bial), António Pires de Lima (Brisa), António Portela (Bial), Carlos Mota Santos (Mota -Engil), Claudia Azevedo (Sonae), José Luís Arnault (Ana – Airports of Portugal), Manuel Violas Violas), Nuno Botelho (Porto Commercial Association), Nuno Amado (BCP), Nuno Galvão Teles (MLGTS), Pedro Castro and Almeida (Santander), Ricardo Pires (Semapa), Rui Miguel Nabeiro (Delta Cafés), Salvador de Mello (José de Mello), Sérgio Monteiro (Horizon Equity Partners) and Vasco de Mello (José de Mello).
