The empire strikes back: After a year without an award, the Austrian Ski Association won big at the sports gala this year. Ski world champion Stephanie Venier was named Austria’s Sportswoman of the Year on Wednesday evening in the Vienna Stadthalle. Ski jumping overall World Cup winner Daniel Tschofenig received the title of athlete of the year. In the men’s category, it is the first award for the ÖSV since Vincent Kriechmayr in 2021.
