In addition to desilting, the partnership agreement also provides for cleaning services for the water surface, with the removal of solid waste and aquatic vegetation, conservation of the banks, maintenance and operation of the Móvel and Penha dams, the Marginal Tietê polders and maintenance of landscaping on the banks of the river.
According to state management, almost R$9.5 billion is expected over the 15 years of the concession, with R$1.7 billion in investments and R$7.76 billion in operational expenses to combat the accumulation of sediment.
The partnership extends to the cities of Salesópolis, Biritiba Mirim, Mogi das Cruzes, Suzano, Itaquaquecetuba, São Paulo, Guarulhos, Osasco, Carapicuíba, Barueri, Santana de Parnaíba and Pirapora do Bom Jesus.
