Former player for clubs such as Flamengo, Cruzeiro, Palmeiras and Fluminense, Felipe Melo took to social media and made a request to the Brazilian national team coach, Carlo Ancelotti. The former athlete and current sportv commentator asked the Italian to test Vitor Roque, from Palmeiras, and a pair from Vasco wearing the Canarinho shirt.
Felipe Melo also emphasizes that a call-up for the World Cup is made from the players’ moment. And the phases of center forward Vitor Roque, goalkeeper Léo Jardim and striker Rayan are very good.
“The World Cup is a moment, right? Whoever is in the best moment, I think, has to have the opportunity to represent the Brazilian team. That said, the boy Rayan, from Vasco, is making it rain, right? As Diniz said: he plays on both sides, he plays number nine too, he has a powerful shot, speed, height, he scores goals with his head. In short, he is going through an incredible phase”, he began about the Cruzmaltino striker.
Next, the former midfielder recalls that striker Flaco López, a teammate at Palmeiras, was already offered a chance by Lionel Scaloni in the Argentine National Team. The same, according to him, could be done with the “little tiger”.
“Flaco López has already been called up to the Argentine National Team, and Vitor Roque, for everything he is doing and the moment he is experiencing, I think, deserves an opportunity in the (Brazilian) National Team”, he said.
“Léo Jardim, Vasco’s goalkeeper, yesterday (against Fortaleza) scored the goal. Not just yesterday, but setting an example. So, I wanted to raise this debate. What do you think? I would give the opportunity, in the next squad call-up, to these three athletes. These three guys are asking for passage, they truly deserve an opportunity. And the World Cup is a moment”, he continued, about Vasco’s goalkeeper.
It is worth mentioning that the Seleção’s goal includes two athletes who are considered certain for the next World Cup: Alisson, from Liverpool-ING, and Ederson, from Fenerbahçe-TUR. The duo, however, were not at the last FIFA Data due to injuries.
