Chișinău – Moldova’s pro-European President Maia Sandu has appointed economist and businessman Alexandru Munteanu as the Eastern European country’s new head of government. Sandu announced on Friday on the online service Facebook that Munteanu was chosen after “consultations with parliamentary groups”. Parliament is expected to confirm the 61-year-old, who has Moldovan, Romanian and US citizenship, in a vote next week.
