The minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) and president of the (Superior Electoral Court), will be awarded the Collar of Honor for Legislative Merit from Alesp (Legislative Assembly of São Paulo).
The nomination came from state deputy Beth Sahão (), who announced the tribute to the judge during a meeting in Brasília on Wednesday (22). The minister told the deputy that she will be present at the ceremony, which has a date yet to be defined.
“I offered it to her not only because she is at the forefront of democratic agendas, but because she is the only woman on the Supreme Court and for what she has done in this regard. More than anyone, she deserves to receive this honor,” Sahão told the column.
The Necklace of Honor for Merit is the main distinction granted by Alesp to personalities with relevant contributions to society.
In 2024, Sahão proposed the same tribute to Eunice Paiva (in memorian), Clarice Herzog and Ana Dias, widows respectively of Rubens Paiva, Vladmir Herzog and Santo Dias da Silva, three of the best-known victims of the military dictatorship.
