A teaching material distributed by for high school students locates (1939-1945) during the 1950s.
The complaint was made by a teacher from a state school in São José dos Campos (SP) to the state deputy’s office (PT).
The incorrect information appears in a digital material on “Globalization and world economy”, in geography, aimed at the second year of high school.
“In the 1950s, Europe was the scene of a major conflict, World War II”, says the incorrect excerpt. “The countries highlighted on the map fought on opposite sides of the conflict, but after its end they were forced to face a new world order with two great powers: the USA and the USSR.”
Emídio decided to contact the São Paulo Public Ministry, demanding action against misinformation and asking for the material to be corrected. “Education in São Paulo is full of problems. Now it is falling in national indexes and growing in the ranking of absurdities”, criticizes the state deputy.
In a note, the Department of Education informed that it has already determined the rectification and updating of the material.
“The Pedagogical Coordination of Seduc-SP is reinforcing the review and quality control procedures for teaching resources used in the state network”, he said.
