The Army of accused the Interim Force of no (Finul) of having shot down one of its drones used for intelligence operations in southern Lebanon. “An initial investigation suggests that Finul forces deliberately fired at the drone and shot it down,” Israeli Army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani wrote on the social network X, who considered that the device “did not pose any threat.”

“After destroying the drone, Israeli troops launched a grenade in the area where the drone crashed,” added the military officer, who explained that the weaponry “was not fired” at the United Nations forces. Finul, which has guaranteed a security zone between Israel and Lebanon since March 1978, said on Sunday in a statement that “an Israeli drone aggressively flew over one of (its) patrols” and the blue helmets applied the necessary measures to “neutralize it”.

Later, the mission indicated that “an Israeli drone” approached a patrol near the border town of Kfar Kila and “launched a grenade”. “Shortly afterwards, an Israeli tank fired at the blue helmets,” he added, without mentioning casualties.
