Where do you throw away moldy bread? It seems simple, but many of us are still wrong

A moldy loaf or a forgotten, dry slice will sometimes appear at home. Such products end up in the trash, but it is worth knowing what container to throw them into. Why is this so important? Because it will make recycling easier, and well-processed waste has a smaller impact on the environment. In addition, we advise you how to store bread to waste it as little as possible.

Bread is most often packaged in foil or paper – many people often store it in these packages. Before throwing away moldy or old bread, remove it from the packaging and throw it into an appropriate container. We put paper in blue containers and foil in yellow containers. Contrary to appearances, we do not throw bread into mixed waste, they should be placed in bio-waste bags or bins — this applies to both dry slices and a moldy loaf.

The bread, along with other leftovers, will be processed into compost and reused, among others. to fertilize the soil. What’s important Moldy bread should not be given to animals either e.g. ducks, deer or other animals, both domestic and wild. It can only harm them, causing serious problems with the digestive system. Fortunately, it is ideal for recycling into compost, so if the bread goes bad, it is worth asking for proper disposal.

Many people do not like to shop often and like to buy in stock, including bread. If we can, it is better to buy bread on a regular basis or use a few tricks that will prolong its freshness. Above all the bread should be removed from the foil and placed in a bread box – thanks to this, it will stay fresh for several days. In addition, bread can also be frozen. Then you just need to defrost them.

You can also make homemade breadcrumbs from dry bread and use it for breading, e.g. meat. Slightly stale bread can be slightly soaked in water and placed in the oven for a few minutes to regain freshness.
