Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana was once again caught speeding and now faces the possibility of prison if he breaks the law again in the next 18 months. The 24-year-old player is already serving a two-year driving disqualification, imposed in May this year, but new images revealed by the British authorities show dangerous driving prior to that punishment.
The episode happened on April 20, on the A3 Esher highway, in Hampshire. Another driver filmed Fofana at the wheel of a Lamborghini Urus, traveling at high speed and recklessly overtaking several vehicles, a maneuver that was considered dangerous by the North East Surrey court.
The player pleaded guilty and, according to his lawyer, Imogen Cox, accepted all the sanctions imposed: an additional 18 months of driving ban, a fine of around 8400 euros and 125 euros in legal costs. Fofana now has 47 points on his driving license, a number well above the legal limit allowed in the United Kingdom.
British authorities warned that a new infraction could lead to the player being arrested, reinforcing the seriousness of repeat driving behavior.
Chelsea’s Wesley Fofana, who is already serving two-year ban for eight previous speeding offences, must now complete 300 hours of community service
