Where do you throw away your deodorant and hairspray packaging? It's easy to make a mistake

Not everyone segregates waste correctly. Many people rush to throw away the packaging anywhere. Due to this approach, we not only pollute the environment, but also may burden our wallet, as financial penalties are provided for incorrect segregation.

This time we take a closer look at deodorant and hairspray packaging. This waste requires a special approach because some of it is classified as hazardous waste. In this article you will learn how to recognize them.

Deodorant and hairspray packaging should be thrown away in plastici.e. into the yellow container. These are usually pressurized metal cans that are great for recycling. However, they must be completely empty.

If they have content, then they are not suitable for plastic, but for mixed precipitationi.e. into the black garbage bin. For example, we are talking about deodorant in a roll-on or stick form.

Aerosol, pressurized spray, paint or detergent packaging that is not empty must be disposed of in hazardous waste.. Such waste should be placed at the Selective Municipal Waste Collection Point (PSZOK). From there they are sent for disposal.

We must also remember to separate the cap from the nozzle before throwing away these items. This simple action will significantly facilitate segregation and recycling in plants where waste is processed.

If we throw unemptied deodorant and hairspray packaging into plastic, we may face unpleasant consequences. Waste collection companies report such situations to the commune, which may increase waste collection fees up to four times.

The situation is worse when deodorant and hairspray packaging is classified as hazardous waste.. Then the fine may be up to PLN 5,000.

Let us remember that responsibility in blocks is collective. Then the amount is “spread” among all residents.
