State deputy Rafa Zimbaldi (Cidadania/SP) filed a representation with the Public Ministry of São Paulo (MP-SP) asking for the preventive arrest of influencer Carol Lekker, participant in the current edition of the program “A Fazenda”, shown by Record. The request was motivated by a speech made by the model within the realitywhere .

The speech was shown on October 26th and was considered by the parliamentarian to be a public confession of threat and ill-treatment against a minor. In the petition that the LeoDias portal received exclusively and which was sent to the Children and Youth Prosecutor’s Office of the Capital, Zimbaldi also requests the opening of a criminal investigation, the verification of the child’s current conditions and the immediate adoption of protective measures, as provided for in the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA).

“Carol Lekker must be arrested, immediately, for confessing, on national television, that she threatened to cut off her stepson’s genitals – a serious crime of threat, harassment and psychological violence against a child. This type of conduct cannot be treated as a joke, or even less as entertainment in a high-profile program. Childhood must be rigorously protected. Threats like the one we saw in ‘A Fazenda’ must be rejected, banned and held accountable”, said the deputy in a statement.

The parliamentarian also asked the MP to investigate Record’s responsibility for having displayed the participant’s statement without informing the competent authorities. The document requests that the broadcaster provide all original images from the moment the speech was recorded, identify those responsible for editorial and present internal security protocols adopted during production.

Zimbaldi cites article 13 of the ECA, which requires immediate communication of any evidence of mistreatment of minors. For him, there was an omission and possible violation of media protection standards, as the episode was broadcast nationally. “The report was published nationally, without it being known whether the child is protected and in a safe environment. According to the principle of full protection (CF, art. 227), the information requires urgent investigation, with a view to locating and verifying the current situation of the child victim”, wrote the parliamentarian.

Among the formal requests are: the hearing of Carol Lekker, to provide clarifications to the MP; the location and assessment of the stepson’s situation, with the role of the Guardianship Council; the adoption of urgent protective measures if a risk is identified; the civil, criminal and administrative liability of the broadcaster and its managers; and the .

Zimbaldi reinforces that the episode constitutes a direct violation of the child’s rights and that the case requires a quick response from the authorities. “Childhood must be strictly protected. Threats like the one we saw in ‘A Fazenda’ need to be investigated, rejected and punished. It is unacceptable for television to treat this type of conduct as something banal”, declared the parliamentarian.

So far, the Public Ministry of São Paulo has not yet commented on the progress of the request. Carol Lekker’s press office and Record’s communications office were contacted by LeoDias portal and have not officially commented on the accusations to date. The space is open.
