A PGR (Attorney General’s Office) asked for the conviction of STF (Supreme Federal Court) of federal deputies Josimar Maranhãozinho (PL-MA), Pastor Gil (Pl-in) to Bosco Costa (PL-SE), accused of involvement in a scheme to divert resources from parliamentary amendments.
According to the PGR, . In exchange, they would have allocated R$6.67 million in health amendments to the municipality.
Investigations indicate that the group was led by Josimar Maranhãozinho, responsible for coordinating and controlling the indicated amendments, in addition to making payments to others involved.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Bosco Costa used bank accounts belonging to family members — his wife and son — to make payments related to the scheme. The case also involved lobbyists and the loan shark known as “Pacovan”, who has since died.
In the final arguments sent to the Supreme Court, the PGR states that dialogues, transfers and documents analyzed prove the formation of a structured network for “the allocation of parliamentary amendments to municipalities in exchange for bribes”.
The agency maintains that the accused acted “consciously and voluntarily” and that the group, under the leadership of Maranhãozinho, was organized in a hierarchical manner, with division of tasks and use of threats to guarantee financial returns.
In some cases, the bribe corresponded to 25% of the amendment values and was charged by intermediaries, with face-to-face meetings and attempts to intimidate the mayor.
The process, reported by the minister Cristiano Zanindetails intercepted dialogues, bank transfers and documents that, according to the PGR, reinforce the authorship and materiality of the crimes.
In addition to the penalties provided, the body requests the loss of the defendants’ parliamentary mandate and the payment of compensation for collective moral damages.
Now, with the presentation of the final arguments by the PGR, the 15-day period is open for the defendants to present their statement. After that, the case rapporteur can release the case for trial.
