President of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta, states that ‘the time is for institutions to unite against organized crime’

The president of the Deputies, (Republicanos-PB), stated this Monday (10), that “the time is for institutions to unite against organized crime”. The statement was made through social media, after a meeting at the Federal Supreme Court () with the minister, the attorney general of the Republic, and the country’s 27 state attorneys. According to Motta, the agenda of the meeting was public safety.

Motta also stated that he mediated a meeting between , rapporteur of the anti-faction project (PL 5582/25), and the head of , Andrei Rodrigues. “We will ensure that the Federal Police maintains its duties in investigations against organized crime”, reinforced the president.

Urgent agenda

At the weekend, the president of the Chamber said that public security is a non-partisan issue and a national urgency. He reinforced that the anti-faction project – also known as a legal framework for combating organized crime – will have a broad and transparent debate in the House Plenary.
