Eggs are a welcome ingredient in every household. Most of us throw the shells in the trash after using them. According to home maintenance experts, this is a mistake. Why?
Eggshells contain vitamins, minerals, but also a lot of bleaching substances that you can use in household maintenance. Thrifty housewives therefore do not throw them away and use them for various purposes. “I use them as fertilizer for flowers. I always crush them, mix them into the soil, and the plants get natural calcium,” says reader Olga from Prague, and calculates other advantages of the shells: “I heard somewhere that the shells improve the taste of coffee, whiten clothes and are even added to cleansing skin masks for problematic skin.”

A popular cleaner
There are many uses for eggshells. But recently, a recipe for a universal cleaning agent appeared on the Internet, where eggshells play one of the main roles. What is it about? “Egg shells have one special property – they whiten, clean and absorb grease. That’s why they are ideal for making a universal preparation for dishes,” says reader Pavla, who made one such solution according to a video on the Internet.
And grease doesn’t stand a chance
“At first I didn’t really believe it, but it really works,” says the brunette, adding a tip for making this homemade shell miracle: “All you have to do is pour a small bottle of Coca Cola over the shells of 4 eggs. Let the mixture sit for a while and then blend in a blender. Pour the resulting solution into a bowl and add 1 cup of dish soap and 1 cup of water. Mix everything thoroughly and pour through a funnel into an empty coca cola bottle. In order to be able to use the product easily, make a hole in the lid, which will make it easier for you to dose. And you’re done!”
Old dirt dissolves
Pavla claims that the resulting cleaner is excellent for burnt pans, pots and other dishes. “Just pour the product on the dirty floor, wait two minutes and then simply remove it with a sponge.
Thanks to the solution that absorbs dirt and grease, it will go like butter,” our reader promises, adding that she also used the same product to clean the bottoms of pots that were contaminated with old grease over the years of cooking.
Shine like lightning for a stainless steel sink
“This detergent is multifunctional and you can use it not only for dishes, but also for cleaning the stainless steel sink, which will polish beautifully. I also polish faucets, drains or stainless steel filters with the product, and everything looks absolutely perfect,” says Pavla, who also uses the cleaner to wash the toilet. According to her, it is a cheap and functional product that almost every woman in the household will appreciate. So don’t hesitate and make one too!
