In victory for the Centrão and the opposition, the Chamber of Deputies approved in the early hours of this Wednesday (Dec 10, 2025), the so-called Dosimetry PL – alternative to the Amnesty PL, which reduces the sentence of all those convicted for the acts of January 8th and also those who were, such as the former president (PL). There were 291 votes in favor of approving the text and 148 against.
The proposal must still be evaluated by the Federal Senate and, if approved, could benefit the former president (PL), sentenced by the (Supreme Federal Court) to 27 years in prison for an attempted coup d’état. The former president is serving his sentence at the Federal Police Superintendence in Brasília.

Early morning approval
The project was scheduled to be voted on on Tuesday afternoon (Dec 9), but the plenary session was postponed. The riot started when Representative Glauber Braga (Psol-RJ) occupied the Presidency chair in protest against the decision of the president of the House, (Republicanos-PB) to set the agenda for the following day, — included in the same session as that of Carla Zambelli (PL-SP).
