According to the PJ, the man entered Portugal in September 2017 and was in an irregular situation. He lived with other foreign citizens and carried out undeclared work.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) detained a man wanted in Brazil for murder in Cascais. The crime occurred in March 2005, in a city in the State of Minas Gerais, when the suspect surprised the victim and fired several gunshots, causing his death.
The 57-year-old man was already sentenced to 12 years in prison.
“The Interpol ‘red notice’ was received on December 2nd, and since then, an exchange of police information has developed with the Brazilian authorities, allowing the aggressor to be located and detained”, explains the PJ statement.

The man will be brought before the Lisbon Court of Appeal to apply a coercive measure.
