Dozens of university faculties are being boycotted by their students, who are demanding criminal and political responsibility for the death of 15 people at the Novi Sad train station. It is recalled that on November 1, the cornice above the entrance to the station collapsed. The station had been completely renovated and opened three months before the tragedy.

The students, and the opacity, when assigning public projects. They claim that there is an attempt to hide political responsibilities.

Schools of the Universities of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and the city of Nis are in the block. The rector’s building of the University of Belgrade is also under blockade.

The Senate supports the students and asks the political leadership to satisfy their demands. “The University of Belgrade strongly supports students in their initial demands as self-aware academic citizens. We particularly emphasize the readiness of our students to react to issues of public and social importance” is mentioned, among other things, in its relevant announcement.

The mobilizations for Novi Sad in Serbia are intensifying

The mobilizations for the tragedy in Novi Sad continue in the streets of the cities. Opposition parties, students and citizens block central roads every day at exactly 11:52 (time of the collapse of the canopy). There they stand silently holding placards with the names of the victims. Blocking lasts 15 minutes, one minute for each victim of the tragedy. During the road blockades, which began ten days ago, there were some minor incidents, which provoked supporters of the ruling party.

Is Vucic resigning?

The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, claimed that “the protests are instigated and financed from abroad” with the aim of overthrowing him.

Vucic, responding to , stated that he will not succumb to pressure and will not leave the country.

“Even if they think I’m Assad and I’m going to screw it up somewhere. I’m not going to do it. I will fight for Serbia and serve only the Serbian people and all other citizens of Serbia. I will never serve foreigners, those who seek to defeat, humiliate and destroy our country,” Vucic said in a video he posted on Instagram.
