The two teams come from opposite results in the middle of the week, when they played matches for the Copa del Rey. The Meringues defeated Talavera 3-2 and reached the round of 16 stage. In turn, the Andalusian representative lost 1-0 to Alavés and fell by the wayside in the knockout tournament. In La Liga, Real Madrid is second in the standings.

Real Madrid lineup against Sevilla
Alonso is still without the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Carvajal and Éder Militão. Furthermore, Brahim Díaz is with Morocco’s squad for the African Cup of Nations, while Álvaro Carreras and Endrick remain suspended.
The good news for the Spaniard is that Ferland Mendy, Eduardo Camavinga and David Alaba have returned to training for Saturday’s clash. The three players are trying hard to be ready to face Sevilla. Fran García, in turn, should start at left back after serving his one-game suspension.
All eyes will be on Kylian Mbappé, as the Frenchman seeks to make history at the club. If the star scores two goals, he will break Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for the most goals scored in a year by a Real Madrid player.
