Kim Kataguiri withdraws from candidacy for the Government of São Paulo

Federal deputy Kim Kataguiri (Mission) announced this Saturday that he has given up his pre-candidacy for the Government of the State of São Paulo and confirmed that he will seek re-election to the Chamber of Deputies. The statement took place during an official party event held at the Bunkyo Auditorium, in the capital of São Paulo.

Kim Kataguiri stated that he wants to “be the governor of the State of São Paulo”, but that “life doesn’t always let us do what we want”.

— We can’t always follow the path we would like to follow. Sometimes, we have to face harder, more ungrateful, heavier roads — he said.

The parliamentarian informed that the Missão party — a party created by leaders of the Movimento Brasil Livre (MBL) — is evaluating whether it will launch an alternative name for the dispute over Palácio dos Bandeirantes or whether it will adopt a stance of neutrality in the state election. According to the deputy, the current trend is for a pure ticket to be created, composed exclusively of party members, with no formal coalitions at the moment.

— In Brazilian politics, we never know what will happen, but we know that something that we don’t know will happen will happen. The imponderable becomes more and more the rule, so, in principle, we shouldn’t form a ticket with other parties, but we don’t know what the scenario will be like in a month or two — he said.

Kataguiri also advanced his plans for the national level and announced that he accepted the invitation to join a possible management of the party’s pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Renan Santos.

— I am very proud to be announced today as the first member of the ministerial team of the Renan Santos government — he declared, appointed to the State Reform portfolio.
