Meeting of the Council for Sustainable Economic Social Development brings together ministers, businesspeople and activists who advise the government on thinking about public policies
This Thursday (12), the fourth meeting of the Sustainable Economic and Social Development Council will take place at 9:00 am at the Itamaraty Palace, in Brasília. The collegiate body, known as “Conselhão”, brings together ministers, businesspeople and activists to discuss and suggest public policies to the government in different sectors. The collegiate is part of the Secretariat for Institutional Relations of the Presidency (SRI).
Initially, the meeting would be led by the president . However, due to hospitalization in the ICU of Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, after undergoing head surgery, the vice-president will be responsible for leading the Council. Furthermore, the coordination of the work will be the responsibility of Alexandre Padilha, minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations of the Presidency of the Republic.
The Council for Sustainable Economic and Social Development is a body composed of representatives of civil society and responsible for advising the president on the creation of public policies and government guidelines. For this meeting, the government prepared a series of decrees, sanctions and cooperation agreements, along with the presentation of investments in areas such as bioeconomy, decarbonization, energy transition and security in the energy sector.
