A two-year-old child was responsible for his mother’s death after having access to a firearm and accidentally shooting. The case happened last Friday (6), but became public on Tuesday (10). The information comes from the USA Today newspaper and the ABC broadcaster.

The weapon was inside the room, in an unprotected place. Child took it and pulled the trigger.

Bullet hit the boy’s mother. Jessinya Mina, 22, was shot in the upper body.

The woman was rescued by her boyfriend, Andrew Sanchez, 18 years old. However, she could not resist her injuries and died.

Sanchez was arrested on the day of the incident, but was released on bail on Monday (9). He was charged with negligent storage of a firearm and child endangerment. The man had no criminal record.

Mina had asked Sanchez not to have a gun at home, according to her sister in an interview with ABC. “Now, because of her boyfriend’s carelessness, his arrogance, his irresponsibility and his neglect of my sister’s desire to never have a gun in the house, she is gone forever.”

Police continue to investigate the case. In addition to the 2-year-old boy, the woman also leaves behind an 8-month-old baby. They are with Mina’s relatives.
