Good news from a logistical point of view for . Until now, the supply of weapons and military equipment by NATO was carried out through a center located in Rzeszów (Poland).
But starting January 2026the absolute dependence on the facilities of the aforementioned Polish city will come to an end. With the aim of improving the speed and efficiency of deliveries, it will be put into operation by a new weapons coordination and transportation center which will be located in Romania.
This NATO move, which will mean the opening of a new route for the supply of military weapons to Ukraine, has been confirmed by the Major General Mike Kellercommander of the NATO NSATU unit responsible for supporting Ukraine.
As reported by the Finnish media , The center located in Romania will work in coordination with the one located in Poland to try to satisfy the weapons needs of the country chaired by Volodymyr Zelensky.
The new facilities will allow double NATO transport capacity to Ukrainein particular for weapons acquired through the PURL (Ukraine Priority Needs List) mechanism, which are purchased by European countries from the US to deliver to Ukraine.
The arms coordination and transportation center located in Romania will operate under the direct command of NATO itselfas is the case with the logistics facilities located in Rzeszów.
