Former player said the procedure was preventive and said he is recovering well
One of the biggest names in Brazilian and world football, the five-time world champion used social media this Wednesday (31) to reassure fans. In the post, the player said that the procedure was preventive and stated that he is recovering well. He also stated that everything was planned and denied that he had suffered a heart attack. In the publication, the former left-back used an image where he appears smiling and resting in an armchair in a hospital bed.
“I would like to clarify recent information. I underwent a preventive medical procedure, previously planned with my medical team. The procedure was successful and I am fine. I did not have a heart attack”, says part of the text.
A publication in the Spanish daily As, this Wednesday, reported that the player revealed by União São João de Araras was immediately admitted for catheter insertion surgery. Also according to the newspaper, the procedure, which was supposed to last 40 minutes, took almost three hours due to a complication.
On his social networks, Roberto Carlos, 52 years old, emphasized that his health status is within normal limits. “I am confident, recovering well, and looking forward to returning to full fitness and resuming my professional and personal commitments soon.”
Finally, the ex-Palmeirense player gave a general thank you for the fans’ concern. “I sincerely thank all the messages of affection, support and concern. I want to reassure everyone that there is no cause for alarm. Many thanks to the entire medical team who took care of me.”
