IBGE shows the main destinations of migrants from Acre in Brazil; check out the full list

Data from the 2022 Demographic Census, released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), show where migrants from Acre who reside outside the state have moved. The survey points to a concentration mainly in states in the North and Central-West regions, as well as destinations in the South and Southeast of the country.

Rondônia appears as the main destination for migrants from Acre, with 30,090 people from Acre residing in the state. Next is Amazonas, which is home to 27,044 people from Acre, consolidating the predominance of migration to neighboring states.

Outside the North Region, Mato Grosso and Santa Catarina share third place, with 6,931 migrants each. São Paulo appears soon after, with 6,314 people from Acre living in the state, followed by Goiás, with 6,029 records.

In the south of the country, Paraná concentrates 4,670 migrants from Acre. In the Southeast, in addition to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro accounts for 3,200 people from Acre. Pará, despite being part of the North Region, appears with a smaller number, totaling 2,721 people.

The Federal District is also among the main destinations, with 2,429 migrants from Acre, reinforcing the attraction exerted by the federal capital, especially for work and study opportunities.

IBGE data indicate that the migration of people from Acre occurs mainly to states close to or with greater economic dynamism, reflecting movements associated with employment, study and access to services, according to the profile identified by the 2022 Census.
