Many Czechs and Slovaks have seen this film perhaps hundreds of times, but there are things in it that only a very attentive eye can notice, states .
The first mistake you can notice is when Jana Turková waters the flowers in the office. Saffron’s pink sweater is buttoned up by several buttons, but when her husband (Petr Čepek) bursts into the office, he has already buttoned it only on the top button. Another discrepancy is in the apartment, when deputy Rumlen (Ladislav Županič) shows Otík a bathroom with a non-functioning shower, saying: “They haven’t released it yet.” In the toilet, which is part of the bathroom, but the water is running. In addition, the toilet was flushed several times in a row before the tank could fill.
However, for the last mistake in the film, you need not only sight, but also a good ear for music. Driver Pávek is playing the tuba at a village party when he sees how they secretly pour brandy into Otík’s beer. He stops playing and goes to pour the beer out the window. However, his instrument can still be heard in the background. It is also interesting that the aforementioned town of Pelhřimov, where the doctor sent the innkeeper, has no crematorium.
