One dead and two seriously injured after avalanche in northern Italy


Rome – A large avalanche broke out on Friday in the municipality of Acceglio in the Alps of the northern Italian region of Piedmont at an altitude of 2,300 meters. At least four ski tourers were hit by the snow, as Italian media reported. A 50-year-old German woman was killed and two other people were seriously injured. Another person was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Three helicopters were in use.
