The São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand Museum of Art (Masp) receives applications from young people for its Pre-University program, of artistic-cultural teaching and preparation of portfolios in the area. Students who have scholarships at their schools are eligible. 20 places are being offered. THE Minimum age to participate is 14 years old.
Pioneer in Brazil with this proposal, the This year, the program explores contemporary art, that is, creations by artists still active or with very current works. Classes will be held from July 13th to 24th, in the morning and afternoon, and will be led by experts in various sub-areas of the creative economy, such as collection preservation, curation and communication.
Os selected young people will have contact not only with Masp’s own collection, but with artists who will open the doors of their studios to present their creative processes. One of the institution’s objectives is to encourage debates and reflections on themes that permeate and permeate contemporary art, such as decoloniality, fashion as a political tool and artificial intelligence.
The second week will be reserved for preparing portfolios, which can assist young people in university applications. Each participant will have individual support from artists and curators and the right to share the compilation of their work with guests, upon completion.
Participation in the program guarantees a certificate and a personalized letter of recommendation, in Portuguese and English, a useful item for those who plan to have more international projection. To the candidates and candidates must submit a letter explaining why they are interested in the projectand can, if they wish, add to an existing portfolio, which helps evaluators know which languages they prefer, influence, among other elements.
