The investigation into the murder of pregnant Karin († 20) in Partizánské continues: Why hasn’t the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit yet?

The preliminary proceedings in the matter of the murder of a pregnant woman in Partizánské from last August continue, the investigation is in the final phase. This was stated for TASR on Monday by the spokesperson of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office (KP) Trenčín Marián Sipavý.

“The investigator performs procedural actions in accordance with the Criminal Code,” said Sipavý, adding that the prosecutor’s office has not yet filed an indictment. In connection with the case, the police charged JH with the particularly serious crime of murder, partly completed and partly committed in the stage of attempt.

According to the police, on August 30, 2025, a man shot and killed a 20-year-old pregnant woman in Partizánské, and also injured her 38-year-old boyfriend. On the basis of an intensive search, the police arrested him that day, restricted his personal freedom in accordance with the law, and after completing the procedural steps, placed him in a police custody cell. The court took the man into custody at the beginning of September 2025, citing the so-called escape and preventive detention.
