Too many elephants: Thailand uses contraceptive injections for the first time

Bangkok – With the number of wild elephants constantly growing, Thailand has used a contraceptive vaccination for the first time. Veterinarians administered the drug to three elephant cows in Trat province in the southeast of the country, the wildlife agency announced on Wednesday. The prevention was set on Monday with the help of darts, said authority representative Sukhee Boonsang. Since then, the three animals have continued to lead “their completely normal lives”.
