The trilateral negotiations of Ukraine, Russia and the USA in the UAE will continue this Sunday

Trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and the United States will continue in the United Arab Emirates on February 1. According to the Kremlin, the negotiations are taking place in an extremely complex and sensitive atmosphere.

Trilateral negotiations of the delegations of Ukraine, Russia and the United States will continue in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday, February 1, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Wednesday. TASR informs about it based on the reports of TASS, RIA Novosti and Interfax and The Guardian newspaper.

  • Negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and the US will continue in the UAE.
  • The meeting is scheduled for February 1 in Abu Dhabi.
  • The subject of the negotiations is very sensitive and complex.
  • Last week’s meeting did not publicly announce the results.
  • The composition of the delegations at the next negotiations is not yet known.

“The talks are scheduled for February 1. It’s preliminary, but we’re based on that for now,” Peskov said, adding that members of the Russian delegation received regular instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin during the peace talks last week.

Complex negotiations

Peskov then responded ironically to a supplementary question as to whether preparations for the negotiations were already underway: “Well, what do you think? No, they will be without preparations.” At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman pointed out their complexity. “These negotiations concern a very sensitive topic. They are very complex, and to judge any specific issues publicly during them is harmful to them,” Peskov added.

Negotiators from Ukraine, Russia and mediators from the US gathered for the first tripartite talks in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital Abu Dhabi on Friday and Saturday last week to discuss Washington’s plan to end the war. They did not announce specific results, but Moscow and Kyiv said they were willing to continue the dialogue.

Head of negotiations

The composition of the delegations is still unknown. However, at last week’s negotiations, the Russian side was led by the head of the GRU military intelligence service, Igor Kostyukov, and the Ukrainian secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov.
