The FBI is investigating matters surrounding the 2020 election at a Georgia election center

A federal investigation into voter fraud continues with an FBI raid in Fulton, where agents were looking for evidence related to Trump’s allegations of tampering in the 2020 election.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) searched a polling place in Fulton County, Georgia, on Wednesday. As part of this case, the FBI is looking into US President Donald Trump’s claims that his defeat in the 2020 election was the result of widespread fraud. TASR took over the report from the Reuters agency.

FBI agents conducted a search at a polling place in Union City, the bureau confirmed in a statement. He called the operation a “judicially approved activity of the security forces”.

Investigating electoral fraud

Fulton County officials confirmed in a brief statement that the FBI seized records related to the 2020 presidential election.

FBI agents wanted to seize computers and ballots they believed were at the center, a security official told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

Trump’s claims in Davos

The search by the FBI came a week after Trump repeated his claim in Davos, Switzerland, that the 2020 election was rigged. “People will soon be prosecuted for what they have done,” declared the US president in Davos.

Democrat Joe Biden defeated Trump in the said election. Reuters reminds that Trump’s claims of fraud have never been proven.
