Actor Zdeněk Godla lives life as if from a movie. When he was 18, he ended up in prison. After serving his sentence, he returned to freedom after five years. Godla took part in the casting for the film Cesta ven, where he was noticed by the producers. That was the beginning of his career. Despite this, he was not without scandals and appeared in court several times. writes the website.

What did the actor do when he ended up in prison? Godla was a recent adult. He and his friends celebrated the name day, but then they ran out of alcohol, so they went to get new bottles. In the end, it turned out to be a robbery. In retrospect, Godla admitted that it was a youthful imprudence.

However, he takes five and a half years in prison as a positive experience. “It was rough at times, but survivable. There were about ten of us in the cell, I also experienced battles, but you have to pretend you don’t see anything. I signed up for a job in prison to pass the time and it was nice that I got out at least thanks to it. I dug on the tracks, collected stones“, he evaluated.

Shortly after his release, he met the love of his life, Jana. “It’s been about three days since I’ve been out. I went to visit my aunt and in the evening I went to a disco with my cousin, where we met,” he mentioned. After a year, the couple got married and today they are the proud parents of three children – Daniel, Zdeňko and Andrejka.

The breakthrough in his acting career was the series Most!, where Godla portrays the Roma scavenger Franta. Slovak fans remembered him thanks to the black comedy Invalid, where he played his most popular role so far.

In 2020, the couple found themselves in court. It turned out that they received social benefits illegally, because Godla hid some of his income from the authorities. His fate was decided by the district court in Chomutov. The hearing was closed to the public because the coronavirus was raging at the time. He was sentenced to seven months in prison, suspended for a probationary period of fifteen months. Since then, Godla has appeared in court several times over debts.
