Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip claimed at least 12 lives, including children

The victims of Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip are increasing again, the latest attack hit residential buildings and a tent camp. The current escalation came only shortly before the expected opening of the Rafah border crossing.

Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Saturday left at least 12 Palestinians dead, the hospitals there reported. The AP agency reports that this is one of the highest numbers of victims since October, when Israel concluded a cease-fire agreement with the Palestinian militant movement Hamas, writes TASR.

Israel attacked both the northern and southern parts of the Gaza Strip and hit an apartment building in Gaza City and a tent in Khan Yunis, according to hospital officials. The Shifa Hospital said that a mother, three children and one of the family’s relatives were killed in an attack on Gaza City on Saturday morning. Nasser’s hospital in Khan Yunis reported that the attack on the tent camp caused a fire that killed seven people, including a father, his three children and three grandchildren.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 500 Palestinians have died in Israeli strikes since a ceasefire with Hamas was signed on October 10, 2025. Israel’s latest attacks came just a day before the scheduled opening of the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to questions about the attacks.
