The president celebrated the Supercopa Rei title, won by Corinthians this Sunday (1) over Flamengo. The PT member also congratulated the São Paulo team’s women’s team, which finished runners-up in the Club World Cup after losing to Arsenal, in England.
“Congratulations to the brave Corinthians for their determination and excellent campaign last year. Champions of the Libertadores and the Brazilian Championship, and runners-up in the first women’s Club World Cup in history, against Arsenal”, wrote Lula on X, formerly Twitter.
Then, the PT member added: “Congratulations to the team, who was champion of the Supercopa Rei 2026. Grit, unity and a fan base that never gives up. Go, Corinthians!”.
The Corinthians men’s team beat Flamengo 2 x 0, in a match played in Brasília. The Supercopa Rei is played by the Brazilian champion against the winner of the previous year’s Copa do Brasil. The ministers of the STF (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes and Flávio Dino watch the game.
The Corinthians women’s team lost 3-1 to Arsenal, in a game held in London. The English won the last continental tournament in Europe, the European Champions League, while the Brazilians lifted the equivalent cup in South America, the Libertadores.
